Power UP!

Power of the Promises:

Key Scripture:" When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it to the hilt, putting his own reputation on the line. He said, “I promise you that I’ll bless you with everything I have-bless and bless and bless!” Hebrews 6:13

"Be like those who stay the course with committed faith and then get everything promised to them." Heb. 6:12

Power Point: A promise is someone’s word that gives you grounds for expectation of success, improvement, or excellence. Wherever there’s a problem, there is a promise waiting to be fulfilled, through faith and patience.

Stir up the promises in you. Suppose you were making a batch of chocolate chip cookies. You have all the ingredients including the chocolate chips. Those cookies might be good but if you leave the chips sitting in their bag on the counter, they aren’t the best they could be, and they’ll never be what they were meant to be. Imagine that God’s promises are the chocolate chips in your life. Like those yummy chips, you have them already, right there in that book on your lap, but for some reason you don’t add them into your life. God has promised you certain things and then He says that through faith and patience, you inherit them. There are two conditions for inheriting promises: faith-(the amplified Bible defines “faith” as “leaning the entire personality on God In Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom and goodness”). And then patience; (endurance, constancy, steadfastness, perseverance.) Both faith and patience are part of the fruit of His own Spirit in you.

So how about stirring some promises into your life today? For every problem God has a promise already provided for you. Your life was never meant to be lived without them.
